Registered Nursing (LVN-RN) Program

The Summer 2021, Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 (cohort) application period is closed. The 2021-2022 cohort application** period opened February 12, 2021 and closed March 12, 2021.

** Advisory: If an applicant is unable to access student email to submit an application the applicant will need to register for course HOC*901*32800 (CRN 32800) for the Spring 2021 term; there is no tuition fee to enroll in the said course. If an applicant is unable to enroll in the said course the applicant will need to reapply to Mission College via CCCApply for the Spring 2021 term, first.

** Program availablity is contingent on COVID-19 restrictions and completion of the current (2020-2021) cohort. Program Start Timeframe: Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

PLEASE NOTE: A mandatory Orientation Session for those whom are accepted into the program (regular and alternates) is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 8:00 am via Zoom; to join the session please refer back to your acceptance letter (email) for the link.

Vocational Nurse (VN) Program:

Nursing Assistant (NA) Program:

The Summer 2021 (cohort) application period is closed. The Summer 2021 cohort application** period opened February 15, 2021 and closed March 15, 2021.

  • Mission College will be suspending admission to the Psychiatric Technician Program for Spring/Fall 2021 admission. The program will be going through curriculum revisions and updates in 2021. We want to provide the most comprehensive curriculum we can provide to our students. The website and program status will be updated periodically. Health Occupations at Mission College

Mission College offers several areas of study resulting in certificates and degrees in the field of Health Occupations. These include:

  • Nursing Assistant (NA)
  • Home Health Aide (HHA)
  • Community Health Worker
  • Psychiatric Technician (PT) (admission suspended)
  • Vocational Nurse (VN)
  • Registered Nursing (LVN-RN)

Each program is unique with its own required prerequisites, course work, labs, and clinical studies.

No recency requirement for Science courses. Science courses are NOT required to be within five years. Beginning Spring 2015 entry into the PT and VN program will require a CNA certificate.

About Our Nursing Programs

Eligibility

Prospective Vocational Nursing Program Students:

As of 11/16/15 the Health Occupations Department will no longer be considering the TEAS Score during the admissions process to the Psychiatric Technician (PT) and Vocational Nurse (VN) Program.

The use of the TEAS score will remain for the Registered Nursing (LVN-RN) Program. ATI TEAS (aka, TEAS-VI (6)) score will be used during the admission process.

Military Personnel

Policy Guidelines for Military Personnel Nursing Admission

Individuals who have held Military Health Care Occupations, specifically: Basic Medical Technician Corpsman (Navy HM or Air Force BMTCP), Army Health Care Specialist (68W Army Medic) or Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technician (IMDT 4N0X1C) may choose between two acceptance options at Mission College Health Occupations Programs.
