To further support your journey, we offer CARE Circles, a supportive space hosted on Zoom for parenting students to learn, share, and connect. Led by our campus’s dedicated mental health team, these sessions offer a safe space to discuss the unique challenges of student-parent life. All Mission College student-parents are welcome.
Kidango is an early learning nonprofit dedicated to helping every child thrive in kindergarten and beyond. Kidango offers safe, healthy, and nurturing environments that foster social, emotional, and academic growth. Infant & Toddler Care (Ages 0-3), Preschool (Ages 3-4).
The Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships (EHS-CCP) program supports early learning settings by providing comprehensive, continuous services. It expands access to high-quality, full-day, full-year childcare, including family childcare, for low-income working families.

A: You may qualify for subsidized childcare. Check out Mission’s Child Development
Center (CDC) department. Additional community childcare resources include Kidango,
First 5 California, Early Head Start, and Head Start.

Q: How does Title IX protect pregnant and parenting students?
A: Title IX prohibits discrimination based on sex including pregnancy and parental
status in any educational program or activity receiving federal funding. “Pregnancy”
includes childbirth, false pregnancy, termination, and recovery from these conditions.
Institutions must:
Excuse absences due to pregnancy or childbirth for as long as medically necessary.
Provide the same protections as for students with temporary medical conditions.
Make reasonable adjustments to support pregnant students.
Allow students to continue participating in classes and extracurricular activities.
Ensure students can return to the same academic status after leave.
Offer options for making up missed work, allowing the student to decide how to proceed.
