Learn about a career as a Nursing Assistant. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a Zoom Information Session to
learn about working as a nursing assistant and how our training program at Mission
College works. A Zoom link will be provided here prior to the meeting.

2026 Summer Program Key Dates:
Mandatory orientation on Zoom: March 10, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Physical exam/health clearance documents submission deadline: May 8
Criminal background check fingerprinting appointments: June 2, 3
Skills kit order deadline: May 18 at 1:00 pm
Mandatory on-campus meeting for completion of state forms: June 11, 11:00 am - 1:00

Required Before Classes Begin
Accepted applicants must meet the following requirements before the program start
date.
Attendance at a mandatory orientation meeting on Zoom, October 21 at 7:00 pm.
Physical Health Clearance to include tuberculosis screening, immunizations, and physical
and emotional fitness for work as a nurse assistant.
Criminal background check. Appointments for LiveScan fingerprinting will be available
January 13, 14, and 15. If you have been convicted of any offense other than a minor
violation, you may not qualify to be certified as a Nurse Assistant. Each case is
reviewed and determined by the California Department of Public Health.
Purchase of required books, skills kit (order deadline January 15), and uniform.
Attendance at a mandatory on-campus meeting on January 27, 2026, at 11:00 am to complete
state forms
