Mission Market is a student-focused food resource at Mission College, developed in collaboration with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley. Its primary goal is to help address food insecurity on campus by offering students access to fresh and nutritious food on a weekly basis. The market is located on the first floor of Campus Center.
The Mission Market initiative is dedicated to supporting students’ academic success
and overall well-being by addressing food insecurity in a holistic way. Through regular
access to fresh, nutritious ingredients, students are empowered to prepare healthy
meals at home, promoting better physical health and improved concentration in the
classroom.
In addition to providing food, the initiative offers practical resources such as cooking
demonstrations, nutrition education, and culturally relevant recipes to ensure students
not only have the ingredients they need, but also the confidence and knowledge to
turn them into balanced meals that support long-term wellness.
