FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Santa Clara, California - The Education and Licensing Committee of the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) delivered a unanimous vote of approval earlier this month to confirm the continued accreditation for Mission College's Nursing Program.

Designed with thoughtfulness, the program provides a comprehensive nursing education, seamlessly blending foundational knowledge with hands-on clinical experience. Throughout the program's duration, students acquire the essential skills necessary to become competent and compassionate registered nurses.

"We are delighted to receive this resounding endorsement from the California Board of Registered Nursing," said Nursing Department Chair Lania Williams. "This approval underscores the dedication and commitment of our faculty and staff to maintaining the highest standards of nursing education."

This year, Mission College has celebrated a significant milestone, with 27 nursing students who successfully graduated from the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Registered Nursing (RN) program and passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The LVN-RN Program currently boasts an outstanding NCLEX pass rate of 100%. The NCLEX is a mandatory examination administered by the state BRN for individuals seeking licensure as Registered Nurses in California.

"The exceptional NCLEX pass rate is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our students and the high-quality education provided by Mission College," said Carol Hartman, Director of the LVN-RN Program.

“These achievements emphasizes Mission College's commitment to maintaining a high-quality nursing program that aligns with its dedication to producing competent and compassionate registered nurses who serve the healthcare needs of the community,” said Roy Vasquez, Dean of Public Safety, Health & Wellness. "We are proud to support our nursing graduates as they embark on their careers, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel."
