I have many memorable experiences at Mission both as a student and later on as staff and community education instructor.  My sisters and I chose Mission based on the exceptional first experience with the counseling department.  Mission College was not the closest to us, but offered the most supportive counselors and faculty. There were many faculty members who were instrumental in shaping our experiences and launching us to the world outside of Mission.  Dr. Jonathan Brennan, Dr. Anna Szbados, Donnelle McGee, and Rick Hobbs were among the faculty that we not only had the privilege to learn from, but also to work with in different capacities.

Mission offered a combination of best counseling, great instruction, and availability of courses in addition to opportunities for student advancement through student organizations.  Thanks to this holistic educational approach at Mission, my sisters and I were all officers of a student organization, scholarship winners and honor students.  In addition, I was a winner of an statewide award in graphic design, earned a number of scholarships, and had the honor to be selected for the juried design exhibit twice.

I am now working in Santa Clara County as a Community Worker using occupational Therapy techniques to serve vulnerable populations. I have held workshops and taught classes in public and private sectors, both in college and university settings. I have also had the privilege to present in conferences in variety of topics nationally and internationally in two languages.

My advice to new students is to not only study, but also participate in campus life. Also in case you decided to improve in a single area, or go back to school pursuing a different field, you know you have Mission to come back to. This is what I did and what I would do again.

Fun Fact: "My two sisters and I are all Mission College alumni and together we have written and published a number of illustrated children books."
