Since receiving Title III AANAPISI grants, Mission College has expanded targeted programs
and services that advance AAPI student success, equity, and transfer outcomes.
The AANAPISI program has:
-
Strengthened English as a Second Language (ESL) pathways, supporting students as they transition into college-level English
-
Expanded academic and student support services tailored to the needs of AAPI students
-
Enhanced data collection and analysis to better identify barriers and improve outcomes
for AAPI learners
In addition, AANAPISI actively addresses systemic challenges often hidden by the “model
minority myth,” including financial instability and limited access to resources. At
Mission College, AAPI students receive an average of 54% of all financial aid awarded,
underscoring the critical role of targeted financial and academic support.
