How to Apply

When you apply for financial aid, you will be asked for information about your financial situation. This information is used to determine whether your "financial needs" meet the government's requirements for eligibility. To help you cut through a lot of the confusion and anxiety when you apply for financial aid, the Financial Aid Office has streamlined the process.

Apply using the on-line FAFSA for quick results, OR complete your application, using black ink only, and mail it in the envelope provided in the application booklet. Be certain to keep a photocopy for your own record. Your application will then go through criteria matching and data processing.

After apply online you will have access to your Student Aid Report (SAR) or receive an electronic SAR in one to two weeks that tells you if you're eligible for a Federal Pell Grant. Being eligible for a Pell Grant is considered a sign of financial need. If you qualify for a Pell Grant, you may also be eligible for other additional types of financial aid. Stop by the Financial Aid Office for more information.

Even if you don't qualify for a Pell Grant, don't give up! You may still be eligible for a variety of other types of financial assistance, including fee waivers and scholarships. To find out about these other options, ask the staff at the Financial Aid Office.

When you receive your Student Aid Report, here's what you do:

  1. Review SAR for action required
  2. Gather any other information that's been requested on My Documents via the My Mission Portal
  3. It is your responsibility to check in your MC Portal for any missing documents and submit as required - check for current deadline.  Your documents will be reviewed.   
  4. Financial Aid Award Letter will be posted online for you to review.

BankMobile Refund and Disbursement Process

                Our district has gone green and replaced paper checks mailed to your home address with our BankMobile Debit Card. All student receiving some form of Financial Aid refund or disbursement will receive payments through the BankMobile card to the address the student has on file with Admission & Records.

  • All Students will receive “My Refund Selection Tool Kit”. Check your mail for the bright green envelope.
  • If you don’t have one visit the visit www.RefundSelection.com. Click on “Where is my Refund Selection Kit.
  • To select your refund delivery preference visit the website www.RefundSelection.com to select a refund preference.

                Your selection preferences are as follows:

  • BankMobile Debit Card-refunds will be loaded directly onto your BankMobile Debit card on disbursement date.
  • ACH Processing-your refund is transferred automatically to your personal bank account. This process is loaded within 2-3 business days from the disbursement date.
  • Paper Check-mailed to address the student has on file with Admission & Records. Process can take up to 21 days after disbursement date.
