STATWAY

STATWAY is a two-semester alternative to the traditional three-semester course sequence that would be required to complete Elementary Statistics. STATWAY students engage in classroom activities that introduce statistical concepts and skills. Students learn the required mathematical ideas and skills in the context of learning statistics.

Math Course Sequence

Who should consider STATWAY?
  • Students who are eligible to enroll in Math 903 (Elementary Algebra)
  • Students in majors such as those in Liberal Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (STATWAY is not for Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Business, Nursing, or any other major requiring a specific math course other than Statistics)
What requirements does the STATWAY sequence satisfy?
  • Math proficiency requirement for an Associate Degree at Mission College (5 units are degree applicable)
  • Transferable course for the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems

Note: Students must complete both STATWAY courses (Math 909 and Math 009) to receive this credit. Completing only the first course will not meet the math proficiency for the Associates Degree or be eligible for transfer.
