Registered Nursing (LVN-RN) Program:

  • The Summer 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 (cohort) application period is closed.

The 2021-2022 cohort application for the LVN-RN Program will be available online in February 2021 contingent on COVID-19 restrictions and completion of the current (2020-2021) cohort.

Health Occupations at Mission College

Mission College offers several areas of study resulting in certificates and degrees in the field of Health Occupations. These include:

  • Nursing Assistant (NA)
  • Home Health Aide (HHA)
  • Community Health Worker
  • Psychiatric Technician (PT) (admission suspended)
  • Vocational Nurse (VN)
  • Registered Nursing (LVN-RN)

Each program is unique with its own required prerequisites, course work, labs, and clinical studies.

No recency requirement for Science courses. Science courses are NOT required to be within five years. Beginning Spring 2015 entry into the PT and VN program will require a CNA certificate.

About Our Programs

Eligibility

Prospective Vocational Nursing Program Students:

As of 11/16/15 the Health Occupations Department will no longer be considering the TEAS Score during the admissions process to the Psychiatric Technician (PT) and Vocational Nurse (VN) Program.

The use of the TEAS score will remain for the Registered Nursing (LVN-RN) Program. ATI TEAS (aka, TEAS-VI (6)) score will be used during the admission process.

Military Personnel

Policy Guidelines for Military Personnel Nursing Admission

Individuals who have held Military Health Care Occupations, specifically: Basic Medical Technician Corpsman (Navy HM or Air Force BMTCP), Army Health Care Specialist (68W Army Medic) or Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technician (IMDT 4N0X1C) may choose between two acceptance options at Mission College Health Occupations Programs.
