Amanda Marshall was born and raised in the Bay Area. She studied Political Science at San Jose State University and interned for two California State Assemblymen. Realizing that politics was not her true passion, Amanda then began working for the YMCA. After several years there working to promote holistic wellness within the community, Amanda came to work in the EOPS program at Mission College in 2015.
In becoming part of the EOPS family, Amanda found the perfect outlet for her lifelong love of education. Amanda is honored to serve in a program that assists students in achieving their educational goals. More than anything, she enjoys working with and learning from students.
Beyond EOPS, Amanda enjoys serving as the Classified Senate Secretary and a Co-Chair of the college’s Mental Health and Wellness Committee. She considers her colleagues and students here at Mission College to be a second family. Inspired by the transformative power of education, Amanda decided to begin her Masters in Educational Leadership in 2020, making her the first in her family to pursue a graduate degree.
