Executive Assistant to the President

Candice Brooks serves as the Executive Assistant to the College President. As a first-generation college student, Candice's undergraduate experience was transformational to the cultivation of her passion for equity, social justice, co-curricular learning, and community. She served as a residential advisor, an orientation leader, a student involvement intern, a member of Black Student Union, and the Vice President of the Black Women’s Network.

She then attended the University of Kansas (#GoJayhawks) where Ishe received a Masters in Higher Education Student Affairs while working as a graduate hall director. Post graduation, Brooks spent roughly three years in South Florida working in residential housing, and then at San Jose State University in various aspects.

Fun Facts

Candice was born in Kansas City, KS raised in both Kansas City, KS & Kansas City, MO # GoChiefs (no worries 49ers fans, she enjoys a friendly rivalry). She is the oldest of her siblings, who are both a joy and a headache. She enjoys painting, yoga, and exploring outdoor nature trails/hiking as a form of self-care. Additionally, she loves cooking especially when it comes to exploring new plant-based recipes.
