SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Mission College in Santa Clara and its new website are now national finalists for a Medallion Award, given annually by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations. There are 18 District finalists across six regions.
The summer launch of its website, missiocollege.edu, not only updated its content but made it its site more visually appealing. The pages also featured Mission College’s social media channels, a live chat and full campus event calendar. Its department pages promote individual courses and accomplishments
Led by the Mission College Marketing Office and working with Vision Point (North Carolina) and Omni Update (California), the web team took input from across the campus and community to create its site.
By the numbers, the website answers upwards of 3,000 questions a month via its live web chat and ask.missioncollege.edu portal and saw some 660,000 visitors in 2017
District 6 is made of community colleges in California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii and Utah.
The Marketing Office previously won five awards at the state CCC Pro convention for marketers in April for its designs and collateral.

- Live web chat by its student ambassadors and Welcome Center
- Promotion of its social media channels on multiple pages
- Promotion of individual courses on department pages
- Intelligent response question and answer via ask.missioncollege.edu
- Mobile friendly design
- Strong visual content
