3rd Annual Women in Leadership Conference on March 6

SANTA CLARA, Calif.-- As part of Women's History Month, Mission College will host its annual Women In Leadership: Changing the World Conference on Friday, March 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Award luncheon starting at 12:15 p.m. will honor three female leaders-- Pediatrician Nadera Varamini, Oneva CEO Anita Darden Gardyne and Stanford mediaX executive director Martha Russell. The luncheon is sold out.

The luncheon will be proceeded by workshops on "Traveling in Skirts," "Ethical Artificial Intelligence," and "I am Resilient." Presenting at the workshops are the Kepler Institute's Karla Worrell, EP3 Foundation CEO Marsali Hancock and SAVE SOMEBUDDY Executive Director Anastasia Najarian.

The workshops are open to the public and in the Gillmor Center from 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. More information is available at

Varamini's specialty is in genetics and dermatology and has been teaching at Stanford's School of Medicine and UC Davis. She received the Patients' Choice Award, awarded to just 5 percent of U.S. physicians based on patient care.

Darden Gardyne co-founded Oneva in 2014, using technology to connect FBI background checks for caregivers to Microsoft employees and others looking for childcare. Oneva is a certified minority business enterprise as well.

Russell leads research intersecting people with technology as a part of Stanford and mediaX. Mediax brings over two dozen Stanford labs and companies together to explore the thoughtful use of information technology across industries.
