SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Mission College in Santa Clara has announced that Gaye Dabalos and Dr. Omar Murillo have been named interim Vice Presidents of Administrative Services and Student Services, respectively.
Dabalos currently is the Director of Facilities Construction on the West Valley and Mission Colleges campuses and successfully executed construction projects relating to the passage of the Measure H and C bonds. The construction projects totaled $585 million.
Dabalos has spent 10 years on the two campuses and 34 years running a small business with her husband. She will continue to work closely with finances and facility management, among others areas of campus
Murillo has been the director of the AANAPISI program since September 2016, which focuses on increasing the graduation and transfer rates of Asian-American and Pacific Islander students. Murillo previously worked with the national TRIO program at Cal State Monterey Bay, increasing responsibility from his start in June 2009.
Murrillo was recently named one of 22 fellows for the National Community College Hispanic Council. Murillo will oversee, among others, Admissions, Financial Aid, Counseling and the host of student services on campus.
They replace Rick Bennett (retirement) and John Mosby (president at Highline College near Seattle). Both will begin August 13.
