SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Mission College instructor, Dr. Wael Abdeljabbar, was recognized by Cisco as one of its top instructors globally in 2016.
The recognition is given to the top 25 percent of instructors globally in student feedback and performance. Mission College runs its own Cisco Network Academy, of which Abdeljabbar leads out of the Gillmor Center.
“Cisco has more than 1 million students, 9000 academies, and 20,000 instructors around the world. This award speaks highly about how well Dr. Abdeljabbar and his work is perceived at the global level,” said Mission College Dean Mina Jahan. “It is in recognition of advanced level instructor excellence and lasting contribution to the Cisco Networking Academy. I am proud of working with him.”
Abdeljabbar has been a faculty member at Mission College since 2005, serving as the Department Chair of the CSIT department. The Cisco Network Academy is a partnership between the Santa Clara community college and the Silicon Valley company, training students to analyze and manage hardware and software within a network environment.
