Mission Student Earns Scholarship from State AGS Society

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—Mission College Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society President Camille Mercier was awarded the Kathleen Loly Scholarship for academic excellence at AGS' 91st annual state convention.

Mercier has served as a math, chemistry and physics tutor during her time on the Santa Clara community college campus. Along with being the President of AGS, she is a member of MESA, which focuses on students interested in science careers and are looking to transfer to a four-year school.

Mercier is majoring in bioengineering and has been accepted to UC San Diego.

Loly was one of the original founders of Alpha Gamma Sigma and was an instructor at Pasadena City College.
