A one unit Spring 2020 class offered by Mission College where students experience tropical ecology first hand in the rainforests of Costa Rica.

BIO 030 • Fall 2019
(enrollment begins in May 2019)
The amazing diversity of life in the tropics is the subject of this introductory level class. Students explore rainforest inhabitants and their relationships, and learn about their value and conservation.
BIO 030L • Spring Break 2020 • March 28 - April 4, 2020
(enrollment begins in November 2019)
In this introductory level class, students carry out research methods that ecologists use to observe and investigate tropical ecosystems. This lab course may be taken with or without BIOSC 030, Tropical Ecology. The class will meet once on campus during the Spring semester and travel to Costa Rica during Spring Break, March 28- April 4, 2020. Students will have the opportunity to skywalk above the rainforest canopy, bird watch, visit a butterfly farm, and take night hikes to see and hear the amazing rainforest after dark.
This class is transferrable as a lab and satisfies General Education requirements, has no pre-requisites and can be taken as Pass/No Pass.
Program Costs for Spring Break Trip
Total program fee for travel to Costa Rica over Spring break with airfare is $2200. Students must have a current and valid passport.
