The Mission College VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card is here!

Effective Fall semester 2016, Mission College will issue a personalized VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card to all registered Mission College students. This gives Mission College students the opportunity to utilize affordable public transportation on the VTA Bus and VTA Light Rail systems. 

Official student ID cards will be separate from the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card. Both cards are available at the Info Desk in the Campus Center.

  1. Who is eligible for the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card? Effective Fall semester 2016, the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card is for all registered Mission College students that have paid their enrollment fees.
  2. Where can I use the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card? The VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card can only be used on the VTA Bus and VTA Light Rail systems within Santa Clara County. The Eco Pass is NOT valid on ACE, Amtrak, BART, Caltrain, Highway 17 Express, Dumbarton Express, Monterey-Salinas Transit, and SamTrans.

  3. How long is the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card valid? Students can receive the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card for each enrolled semester. If a student is enrolled for the Fall semester, the Clipper Card is valid for the Fall semester and the Winter session. Students enrolled in the Spring semester have Clipper Card validity through the Spring semester. Students enrolled in the Summer session have Clipper Card validity through the Summer.

  4. What is the required fee for the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card? The VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card fee will be charged automatically upon student enrollment. All enrolled full-time students (12 units or more) will be charged up to $11.00 per semester (excluding Summer) and all part-time students (0.5 units – 11 units) will be charged up to $9 per semester (excluding Summer). The Summer session is one flat fee of $5. *Students that register for the Winter session ONLY will NOT have the option to receive the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card and will not be charged this fee.

  5. I’m on the Board of Governors (BOG) Fee Waiver and/or financial assistance provided by the State or Federal Government. Do I still need to pay the fee? Yes, all registered students will be required to pay the mandatory fee per semester.

  6. I’m a non-California resident and/or International Student. Do I still have to pay the fee? Yes, all registered students will be required to pay the mandatory fee per semester.

  7. Do I have the right to petition this fee? Yes, students have the right to petition the fee before the semester census date to Mission College’s Admissions & Records for political and/or religious purposes. The census date varies with each semester. Please check the Mission College website under “Important Dates” regarding the census date.

  8. If my enrollment status changes from full-time to part-time, do I get a refund for the fee? (e.g. dropping classes) Yes. However, enrollment status changes must be done before the semester census date. Accounts will be adjusted for the difference between the full-time and part-time fee. Please check the Mission College website under “Important Dates” regarding the census date. Refunds for fees charged for the VTA Eco Pass Clipper Card upon registration every semester will depend on the same refund schedule (per semester) as Mission College’s refund policy.

  9. If my enrollment status changes from part-time to full-time, do I have to pay the difference of the fees? (e.g. adding classes) Yes. However, enrollment status changes must be done before the semester census date. Accounts will be charged for the difference between the full-time and part-time fee. Please check the Mission College website under “Important Dates” regarding the census date.

  10. What is the refund schedule if I’m only registered for a Late Start/Short-Term class? For Short-Term classes that have less than 5 meetings, the last day to drop with a refund is the day before the first class meeting per semester.
