Mission College's Accreditation Renewed

TIn a letter received from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior College, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, dated June 30, 2010, Mission College learned that its accreditation had been reaffirmed. Citing review of the college's follow-up report during the Commission's June 9 11 meeting, and that of a visiting team made on April 13, 2010, the Commission's President, Barbara Beno, went on to say, "On behalf of the commission, I wish to express continuing interest in [Mission College's] educational quality and students' success. Professional self-regulation is the most effective means of assuring institutional integrity, effectiveness and quality."

In a message to all college instructors and staff, Chancellor John Hendrickson of the West Valley-Mission Community College District said, "This is the best news possible! Congratulations to all Mission College employees and to the specific faculty, staff and managers... I am glad to have played a small role in supporting Mission College to affirmatively respond to all accreditation findings and to achieve this major success."
