Jean  Replicon

Faculty, Biological Sciences

Jean has taught in the Biological Sciences Department at Mission College since 1995. She teaches the Introductory Biology classes where she shares her passion for the natural world with students. This class has both in-person and convenient online sections. Jean also enjoys classes that immerse students in the field, such as Marine Biology and Tropical Ecology. The Tropical Ecology class includes a study abroad component with nine days of stay at field stations in Costa Rica (see link below). Jean is passionate about the environment and is active in the college’s Sustainability Committee.

My husband and I chose "Replicon" as last name when we married in 1985. Replicon is a term that refers to a DNA or RNA molecule that can copy itself as a unit, beginning at a specific origin of replication
